Getting to Boulder

There are three convenient bus services between DIA and Boulder:

(1) SkyRide at DIA - RTD Public Transportation
To get to Boulder from DIA using the RTD bus, take the SkyRide AB Bus (the fare is $9, payable in cash to the driver; no change is given). The AB bus runs once an hour, 20 mins after the hour. Check the schedule or visit the RTD booth in the airport for precise times. Get off at the University of Colorado stop at the corner of Broadway and 16th, near the University Memorial Center (UMC) or, at the latest, at the Boulder downtown bus station at 14th and Walnut (the "Boulder Transit Center").
     • Find the SkyRide bus stop at DIA
     • Visit RTD's Website to view schedules
 (2) Super Shuttle - Door-to-door service
Another mode of transportation between DIA and Boulder is the Supershuttle (phone: 303-227-0000 or 800-258-3826), which provides door-to-door service and also leaves DIA every hour.

No reservations are required for either service for travel from DIA to Boulder. Advance reservations are required, however, for SuperShuttle travel from Boulder to DIA. The trip takes about one hour.

(3) Green Ride Boulder - Door-to-door service
Eco-friendly transport between DIA and Boulder is offered by the Green Ride (phone: 303-997-0238), which provides door-to-door service and also leaves DIA every hour. Shuttles depart between Doors 507 and 509 on the east side of the terminal. Reservations are recommended. There is also a booth located inside the Terminal on Level 5 to provide walk-up ticketing.

     • See bus system map: choose Boulder Church of the Nazarene PnR in the pulldown menu at left for a useful overview of the area around the university campus. Local fare inside Boulder is $2.60 payable in cash to the driver; no change is given.

Boulder offers several taxi services,including
     • Boulder Yellow Cab Inc.(www.boulderyellowcab.com or phone: 303-777-7777)

Finding the Workshop Venue

The workshop will take place in the JILA auditorium in the Duane Physics complex, centrally located near the bend in Colorado Avenue (building 56 on the campus map). The auditorium is room B111, on the ground floor at the north end of the JILA building.
     • Download a campus map or visit the interactive campus map online.
     • Download a campus map with hotels

Parking on campus is limited and fairly expensive. The nearest long-term public parking to the workshop is in the Euclid parking garage, located next to the University Memorial Center (UMC) on the corner of Euclid and 18th Street and accessed from Broadway via 18th Street. The workshop venue is a short walk east of the UMC. Discounted parking coupons will be available for purchase at the workshop registration desk. These may be used in lieu of payment when you exit the parking garage.

Visitors are strongly advised to use the RTD bus or walk to campus.

Visas for International Visitors

The U.S. has strict visa policies for visitors and you should apply for your visa well in advance of your departure date. For details that may apply specifically to your country, see information posted by your nearest U.S. consulate or embassy: http://www.usembassy.gov/

Some US consulates require a printed invitation on conference/university letterhead and with an original signature as part of the visa application. The organizers will provide such letters on request. Please contact David Walba if you need a formal invitation letter.
